Jenny and Will’s engagement session!

During my trip to Knoxville in late January, I met up with Jenny and Will for an engagement photo session! We had to do some quick work because of time constraints, but we set up downtown around Market Square and along Gay Street. I absolutely love how they turned out!

Jenny even forwarded me a little praise she received for the photos – they were “so artistic and had the flair of a photojournalist, rather than just flat photography.”

So thank you, Jenny and Will, for being great to work with and photograph, and I can’t wait for the wedding in March! Here’s a few from the shoot:

** I just got my weddings and engagements section of this site up! Hint, hint: click here, or on the “Photos ‘n Such” tab above.

Flash Rave at the UTK Library!

Coordinated through a Facebook event, a flash rave was planned at the UT Knoxville Hodges Library, presumably inspired by improveeverywhere.com. The event, scheduled for May 1, 2009, instructed students to show up a the library at 11 p.m. and be ready for a flash rave — it would last for ten minutes, then students were to leave the library.

I showed up about 15 minutes til with a few friends. The Facebook event had over 600 confirmed guests, plus well over a 1000 “maybes”, so we didn’t quite know what to expect. Would there be a crowd? Or three people in the lobby with a boom box?

Turned out be a crowd. And not just a small one, the entire 2nd floor of the library was filled. And the massive rave started a few minutes early, I guess people just couldn’t wait. There were glow sticks, crowd surfers and beach balls galore, and when “Zombie Nation” by Kernkraft 400 started up in a boom box next to the circulation desk, the crowd went absolutely wild. Too bad somebody decided to wear stilettos and smash my foot…but hey, it was still an experience anyway.

I’ll leave you with a videos. The first three I took with my phone’s camera, the latter is a cooler-looking one (I love fish-eye lenses!) I found on YouTube.

I’m tweeting!
